Fluid retention, what to do

Fluid retention, what to do

To decrease fluid retention we need to drink water, about 2 liters per day, or tea, such as horsetail tea, and avoid foods such as canned foods, sausages or others who have too much salt.
Also, another important tip is to replace the salt to season foods or prepare aromatic herbs such as parsley or oregano, for example. Decrease the amount of salt per day is also essential, so  know the amount of salt that should consume daily .
Other important measures to treat fluid retention are:
Do lymphatic drainage
Eating foods rich in potassium
  • Increase consumption of diuretic foods such as watermelon, cucumber or tomato;
  • Avoid getting long standing, sitting or cross-legged;
  • Eat foods rich in water, such as radish, turnip, cauliflower, watermelon, strawberry, melon, pineapple, apple or carrot;
  • Making lymphatic drainage, which is a specific massage to reduce excess fluid in the body;
  • Eating foods like cooked beet greens, avocado, nonfat yogurt, orange juice or bananas because they are foods rich in potassium, which helps lower the salt from the body;
  • Put your legs in the air at the end of the day.
